阅读下列短文,根据短文中的信息完成文后表格。(每空一词)
It’s hard to make friends if you stay at home alone all the time. Get out of the house and do things that will put you in touch with other people. It’s easier to make friends when you have the same interests.
Don’t be afraid to show people what you are really good at. Talk about the things you like and do best. People will be interested in you if there is something interesting about you.
Look at people in the eyes when you talk to them. That way, they will find it easier to talk to you. If don’t, people may think you are not interested in them and may stop being interested in you.
Be a good listener. Let people talk about themselves before talking about ‘me, me, me’. Ask lots of questions. Show interest in their answers.
Try to make friends with the kind of people you really like — not just with those who are easy to meet. Be friendly with a lot of people. If so, you will have a bigger group of people to choose(选择) from and have more chances(机会) to make friends.

What makes a successful speech? First, you should have a good speech script (稿子) so that your ideas and language can attract people"s attention. And some skills are necessary, too.
Here are some suggestions on giving great speeches:
◆Beat nerves
Try to get relaxed when making a speech. Practice your opening sentence three or more times. This will help make a sure start and a successful speech. When you stand on the stage, think of the audience as your family members and friends.
◆Keep it natural
Natural body languages will help your speech: smile, stand straight and look at the audience. Do not drop your head or play with a pen. Also, dressing yourself nicely will help the audience feel respected.
◆Pace and pause (节奏和停顿)
Pace and pause add color to your speech. Speak fast enough to keep people excited and slowly enough for people to fully understand you. After an important point, pause for a moment. It"ll change the atmosphere (气氛)in the audience.

If we find a bird nest (巢), we will have a good place of watching and knowing about birds. Birds sit on eggs and take care of their babies from April to June. Because the baby birds are too young to leave the nest, parents often go to look for food and come back in several minutes. So it is good to watch birds. When we watch birds, we"d better hide ourselves in a close place to the nest, and it"s better to use binoculars (双筒望远镜).
But how do we make a bird nest? A good bird nest must be very fine, strong, thick and comfortable. If you want to make one, please follow these:
a) Each nest must have six boards (木板) for its cover and floor, for its left and right sides, and for its front and back sides. Don"t make the boards too slippery (滑的).
b) Dig a small hole in the front of the nest as a "door". The "door" is big enough so birds can fly in or out easily.
c) Make sure the rainwater can"t go into the nest.

阅读下列短文,根据短文中的信息完成文后表格。(每空一词)
One of the most powerful tools you can use to improve your reading comprehension is mind mapping. It is possible to create maps by simply using a pen and paper.
The first step is to draw a circle or box at the center of the page. Inside your shape write down the main idea that your mind map will focus upon. For example , if you were creating a mind map about the geography of the United States , then you would write down “the geography of the United States” in the middle of your page inside your circle.
Next you draw branches from your central idea. Much like a tree grows branches . Simply draw a line moving away from the central theme. In the case of the geography of the United States , you would probably draw 50 lines. Each line represents one of 50 states. These are the main categories(分类) with your primary concept(概念).
Each of lines can then have branches off of each. These would represent the main example under each category. For example , under the line titled, “ Texas,” you would find lines called Austin, Houston, and Dallas, you might draw a series of lines to represent some of its main sections like “ South Dallas” and “ Highland Park” .
You continue to draw your mind map much like the structure of branches on a tree. Mind map helps improve your comprehension because they enable you to quickly see relationships between main ideas, categories , examples, and details that might otherwise be missed if you use more traditional note taking strategies(策略).
