When something goes wrong, it can be very satisfying to say, "Well, it’s so-and-so’s fault. "or "I know I’m late, but it’s not my fault; the car broke down. " It is probably not your fault, but once you form the habit of blaming somebody or something else for a bad situation, you are a loser. You have no power and could do nothing that helps change the situation. However, you can have great power over what happens to you if you stop focusing on whom to blame and start focusing on how to remedy the situation. This is the winner’s key to success. Winners are great at overcoming problems. For example, if you were late because your car broke down, maybe you need to have your car examined more regularly. Or, you might start to carry along with you the useful phone numbers, so you could call for help when in need. For another example, if your colleague causes you problems on the job for lack of responsibility or ability, find ways of dealing with his irresponsibility or inability rather than simply blame the person. Ask to work with a different person, or don’t rely on this person. You should accept that the person is not reliable and find creative ways to work successfully regardless of how your colleague fails to do his job well. This is what being a winner is all about — creatively using your skills and talents so that you are successful no matter what happens. Winners don’t have fewer problems in their lives; they have just as many difficult situation to face as anybody else. They are just better at seeing those problems as challenges and opportunities to develop their own talents. So, stop focusing on "whose fault it is. " Once you are confident about your power over bad situations, problems are just stepping stones for success. 小题1:According to the passage, winners .A.deal with problems rather than blame others | B.meet with fewer difficulties in their lives | C.have responsible and able colleagues | D.blame others rather than themselves | 小题2:The underlined word remedy in Paragraph 1 is closest in meaning to .A.avoid | B.accept | C.improve | D.consider | 小题3:When your colleague brings about a problem, you should .A.find a better way to handle the problem | B.blame him for his lack of responsibility | C.tell him to find the cause of the problem | D.ask another person for help | 小题4:Which of the following is the best title for the passage?A.Winner’s Secret. | B.A Winner’s Problem. | C.A Winner’s Opportunity. | D.A Winner’s Achievement. |

I was listening to the radio while 1 was driving home from coaching basketball yesterday. I could tell right away that there was something 41 by the mood of the speaker. There had been a plane crash. What made the 42 even more tragic was that Bob Collins, the morning show man, was among those who had been killed. Throughout my 40-minute 43 , I listened as sincere love and affection from the audience 44 .The more I listened about how this man had influenced those around him, the more 45 I became. That was because I wanted to know 46 we as a culture, wait until somebody has passed away before we tell them how much they 47 to us? Why do we wait until it is too late before we 48 someone up after they have died? Yes,49 memory after memory about someone"s good 50 does help us cope with the sadness of losing someone special to us. A few days ago, I went to school with lots of books, hoping to get a locker (锁柜). Suddenly, it started raining heavily. I hurried to pay for my locker, but I was disappointed when they informed me they only accepted cash. I was $ 7.00 short, which meant I had to carry the books back home. It would be an exhausting (令人精疲力竭的) two-hour journey back home with all those books. An elderly gentleman nearby noticed my problem. He asked how much cash I needed. When I told him I was $7 short, he quickly took out the money from his wallet .“You don’t have to pay me back ,”he said. I was speechless; I didn"t know whether to take the money or come back with the books the next day. A young student who was working there noticed my hesitation. “He’s really nice ,”said the student. I was starving this morning and he bought breakfast for me. He always helps people in different ways. The next day, I went to him and thanked him for trusting me and lending me the money. He said he forgot about it and didn"t expect I would give it back. “I’m very happy,” he said,“not because I’m getting my money back, but because this is the right way to go---whatever you get from this world, give it back as much as you possibly can. Spread kindness around the world with the smallest things you can do.” Later, I found out he wasn’t involved with any charity(慈善)organizations. He has been performing these types of acts for years. Earlier, someone had done something incredibly kind for him and he has been spreading the kindness ever since. He taught me a very important lesson in life. We come to this world with nothing and we will leave with nothing. Whatever we own, it will become somebody else’s and whatever we leave, it will become somebody else’s. 小题1:Why did the writer need a locker in the school?A.To help him get away from the sudden rain. | B.To store his large quantity of books. | C.To carry it back home with his books inside. | D.To make it easier for him to go on a trip. | 小题2:When the old gentleman offered the money, the writer was________.
