      * Try practicing at home.  Then,  even if you become nervous, at least your opening sentences will

      * Before you go on stage,  try listening to relaxing music or breathing deeply.  This may help you
feel better.
      * Dress smartly.  This will give you confidence.
      * Once you are up on stage,  pick out the most friendly face in the audience.  Look into the person"s
eyes from time to time and speak as if you are talking directly to that person.
        * Write down the key points of your speech on small cards.  But don"t hold your notes in your
hand.  Put them on a table near you instead.

    Reading for pleasure is not the same as studying.  When  you  read pleasure,  you choose your own
books,   and  you don"t  have  to  remember  everything.  There are no tests on your pleasure reading

is polite and kind to write a thank-you note.
