    Hong Kong Disneyland (迪斯尼乐园) opened on September 12, 2005 and became the
first Disney Theme Park in China. It looks like the Disney theme park, which is in the USA,
but has a Chinese flavor (特色风情) to attract (吸引) millions of tourists from all over China.
The opening day was chosen for good luck. Its restaurants offer Chinese menus, and
Mickey Mouse and his friends can be seen wearing traditional Chinese costumes. The park
hopes to welcome five million visitors in its first year and is going to be very busy if the
facts about operations in Orlando Disney World are anything to go by.

     The 16th Asian Games in 2010 November 12-27 in Guangzhou, China, and Guangzhou is the second
Chinese city to get the right to host the Asian Games. Beijing had the 11th Asian Games in 1990. There will
be 41 events at Guangzhou Asian Games. And the Asian Games have the largest number of events in history.
After the Asian Games, Guangzhou will host the Tenth Asian people with disabilities (残疾人亚运会) in
December.
     In March 2004, four cities applied for (申请) hosting the Asian Games: Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul
(Seoul), Amman. On July 1, 2004, the Olympic Council of Asia announced (宣布) that Guangzhou got the
right to host the 16th Asian Games. On November 17, 2006 in Guangzhou the symbol of Guangzhou "
Wuyang" became the symbol of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games in Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
