eat almost anything that is offered to them. A child often likes food unless it is badly cooked. Never ask a child
whether he likes or dislikes a food, never discuss likes and dislikes in front of him or allow anybody else to do
so. If the father says that he hates fat meat or the mother refuses some vegetables in the child"s hearing, he may
copy this action. Parents should agree to the fact that he likes everything and he probably will . At meal times, it
is a good idea to give a child a small part at one time rather than give him as much as he may eat all together. Do
not talk too much to the child during meal times, but let him get on with his food. And do not allow him to leave
the table at once after a meal, or he will soon learn to eat his food hurriedly so he can hurry back to the toys in

Sometimes you don"t think your parents are fair to you. When you want to dress in a modern way, your
mum doesn"t like you wearing a mini-skirt. When you are making phone calls to friends, they ask if you"re
speaking to a boy or a girl. Sometimes it seems that you" re not as close to your parents as you used to be.

your parents. He gives ways to help you under-stand your parents. When you think "my parents don"t want

needs. They need to feel they are important and loved.
You should tell your parents your needs, and find out what their needs are. Then, you can think of a way
to make all of you happy. He gives you some ideas:
①. Make time to talk. You could talk about your school life and your plans for the future.
②. Keep a diary. This is to help you understand more about yourself and your feelings.

passports, but they have to obey other rulers. Most countries have laws about animals coming into their country.
The laws were made to stop the spread of illnesses that animals carry. Traveling animals include cats and dogs
going with their owners on trips. Others are rare animals going to zoos. Some are birds and fish on their way to
pet shops.
Some animals can"t go into a country if their owners can"t prove that they have been vaccinated (接种疫苗)
against certain illnesses. Others must be studied by animal doctors. Sometimes animals must spend a month or
more in a special place before they can enter a country. There, they are kept away from other animals before it is
certain that they do not have illnesses. Only the people who can look after the animals can go near.
