"Or you can"t get up on time tomorrow morning." "Let me finish watching the football match, Mummy,"

     Forty-five minutes later the match was over and John went to his bedroom. He took off his clothes
quickly, threw them on a chair and soon went to sleep. It took his mother five minutes to wake John up
the next morning. "Get up quickly,"  said the woman. "Or you"ll be late for class. Look. It"s half past six."
     John had to get up, but he couldn"t find his shirt. He called out, "Where"s my shirt, Mummy?" Mrs.
Scott went in at once and said, "Don"t shout. My dear Mike is asleep (睡着的). Don"t wake him up.
"The woman helped John find his clothes and came out. Another five minutes later, John didn"t come
out.

     An English traveler spent a few weeks in Sweden(瑞典). When he was about to return home he found that he had only enough money left to get a ticket back to England. Thinking the matter over, he decided that he could get home without eating anything as it was only a two-day voyage. So he bought a ticket with that little money he had and went on board.
     He dosed his ears to the sound of the lunch bell , and when dinner time came, he refused(决绝) to go down to the place where people had their dinner, saying that he did not feel well.
