Since 47 has always been important in my family, I had no 48 but to find creative ways to fit in school studies throughout my 49 career. After graduating from high school, I moved to Canada and set out to train full-time to give my dreams a chance at reality. In 1992 I went to compete in the Olympic Games. 50 , not my coach or even my family, ever talked to me about winning a gold medal. In fact, I wouldn"t even 51 myself to think about it. I thought that would disturb me. 52 , I went with the attitude that I wanted to enjoy the Olympic spirit. 53 the expectation of all the people, I won the gold medal and words couldn"t describe the overwhelming mixture of emotions I felt. Then I truly understood what 54 most in achieving a dream is nor to 55 it when you 1ace difficulties, but strive to make it come true.

It was her giggling (咯咯笑) that drew my attention. Note taking really wasn’t all that funny. Walking over to the offender (肇事者), I asked for the 36 . Frozen, she refused to give it to me. I waited, all attention in the classroom on the quiet 37 between a teacher and a student. When she finally 38 it over she whispered, “Okay, but I didn’t draw it.” It was a hand-drawn 39 of me, teeth blackened and the words “I’m stupid” coming out of my mouth. I managed to fold it up calmly. My mind, 40 , was working angrily as I struggled not to 41 . I figured I knew the two most likely students who drew the picture. It would do them some 42 to teach them a lesson, and maybe it was high time that I did it. Thankfully, I was able to keep myself 43 . When there were about six minutes remaining, I showed the class the picture. They were all silent as I told them how 44 this was for me. I told them there must be a reason 45 and now was their chance to write down anything they needed to tell me. Then I let them write silently while I was seated in the back of the classroom, with tears in my eyes. As I 46 the notes later, many of them said something like, “I’ve got nothing 47 you.” or “I’m sorry you were hurt.” Some kids said, “We’re afraid of you.” But two notes, from the girls who I 48 drew the picture, had a list of issues. I was too 49 , too strict… Reading those notes, I realized that over the course of this year, instead of 50 my students, I had begun commanding them to 51 . Where I thought I was driving them to success I was 52 driving them away. I had some apology to make. But the next day in the classroom, one boy and one girl each handed me a card. The one 53 by all the boys expressed sincere regret for the ugly joke. The one from the girls asked for 54 . This was a lesson for both the kids and me. A man found a cocoon of a moth. He took it home so that he could 31 the moth come out of the cocoon. On that day a small 32 appeared, he sat and watched the moth for several hours as the moth struggled to 33 the body through that little hole. Soon it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had 34 as far as it could and it could go no farther. It just seemed to be stuck. So the man, out of his kindness, decided to help the moth. He took a pair of scissors and cut off the 35 bit of the cocoon. The 36 then came out easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriven(无用的) wings. The man continued to watch the moth because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and 37 to be able to support the 38 , which would get smaller in time. Neither happened! In fact, the little moth spent the rest of its life 39 around with a small, swollen body and shriveled wings. It was 40 able to fly. What the man in his kindness 41 was that the small cocoon and the 42 of the moth to get through the 43 opening was a way to push fluid(液体) 44 the body of moth 45 its wings so that it would be ready to fly 46 it got out of the cocoon. Freedom and 47 would come only after the struggle. By taking the moth of a struggle away, he also took away the moth’s health. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If we were to 48 our lives without any difficulties, we would be disabled. We would not be as 49 as what we could have been. Give every opportunity a chance, leave no room for 50 .
