My son Tom taught me a beautiful lesson today. He is three years old and it is amazing watching him grow up.
He called out to me today saying, “Papa, sit”. That usually means        everything and going next to him and sitting down to play with him. I did that, as he can be        and will not stop calling out until I        . He was playing with beads (珠子), pushing a string through them, which is a great exercise to help        fine motor skills. Then, after he finished playing with the beads, it was time to put them back in the box that they are stored in. I saw him        pick up each bead, look at it        it were made of chocolate and then placed it into its box.
With over a hundred beads to go, I was getting        . “What a long time it will take! Why cannot he         ten beads in one go and drop them in?” said my anxious mind. I noticed that he did this with as much        as he had while we were playing. I didn’t see any        between his play and his putting away the toy. Obviously he enjoyed both.
Then it suddenly        me that this boy was enjoying the whole        . The journey was his goal. For him the        was in the game and after the game, not just in the fun part. What a great perspective: to live each moment as it is the        moment; to do each task as it is the most awesome task. Nothing else       .
Looking at how        my son was putting beads into the box        me that the process was the goal. The joy of pilgrimage (朝圣) is not in getting there but in every        of the journey.
This is what living in the NOW is all        . Tom, my son, was showing me that it was about thoroughly enjoying every moment with        love and peace.

举一反三
In this life, what did you miss?
The wife asked the husband when she was 25. Despondently, the husband replied: "I missed a new job opportunity." When she was 35, the husband angrily told her that he had just missed the bus. At 45, the husband sadly said: "I missed the opportunity seeing my closed relative before his last breath." At 55, the husband said disappointingly: "I missed a good chance to retire." At 65, the husband hurriedly replied: "I missed a dental appointment." At 75, the wife did not ask the husband anymore, the husband was kneeling in front of the very sick wife. Remembering the question the wife used to ask him, this time he asked the wife the same question. The wife, with a smile and peaceful look, replied: "In this life, I did not miss having you!" The husband was full of tears. He always thought that they could be together forever. He was always busy with work and trifles. So much so he had never been thoughtful to his wife. The husband hugged the wife tightly and said: "Over 50 years, how I had allowed myself to miss your deep love for me."
In the busy city life, there are many people who are always busy with work. These people revolve their lives around their jobs, these people sacrifice all their times and health to meet the social expectations. They are unwilling to spend times on health care. They miss the opportunity to be with their children in their growing up. They neglect the loved ones who care for them, and also their health. Nobody knows what is going to happen one year from now.
Life is not permanent, so always live in the now. Express your gratitude to your loved ones in words. Show your care with actions. Treat everyday as the last episode of life. In this way, when you are gone, you loved ones would have nothing to feel sorry about.

While attending a conference, I returned to my hotel room late one evening. The overhead light outside my door was burned out and I had       finding the keyhole. When I       to open the door, I       around the wall for a light switch. I found a plate where a switch was       installed... but no switch!

That evening I discovered in a whole new way just how dark the world       be and how   necessary light is! But even more necessary than       light is the light that shines from people --the light of       and faith. Because, for many people, the world is a dark and       place. Whatever light you       may be a beacon(灯塔) of hope and encouragement. When I was a kid, my Mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at hospital.
On that evening so long ago, my Mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned toast in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his toast, smile at my Mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don"t remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him spread butter and jelly on that toast and eat every bite!
When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my Mom apologize to my dad for burning the toast. And I"ll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned toast."
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his toast burned. He took me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she"s really tired. And besides – a little burned toast never hurt anyone!"
You know, life is full of imperfect things and imperfect people. What I’ve learned over the years is that learning to accept each other’s faults is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship. This good quality is the base of any relationship --- husband-wife or parent-child or friendship! As far as I’m concerned, I’m not the best engineer as expected. However, I have made my efforts. That’s enough.
So learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life. Burnt toast isn’t a deal-breaker! Don’t put the key to your happiness in someone else’s pocket but into your own.

A person, like a commodity(商品), needs packaging. But going too far is absolutely undesirable. A little exaggeration(夸张) will do no harm when it shows the person’s unique qualities to their advantages. To show personal attractiveness in a casual and natural way, it is important for one to have a clear knowledge of oneself. A skilled packager knows how to add art to nature without any signs of embellishment so that the person so packaged is not a commodity, but a human being, lively and lovely.
A young person, especially a female, shining with beauty and full of life, has all the favor granted. Youth however, comes and goes in a flash. Packaging for the middle-aged is primarily to hide the marks made by years. If you still enjoy life enough to keep self-confidence and work at pioneering work, you are unique in your natural qualities, and your attractiveness and grace will remain. Elderly people are beautiful if their river of life has been, through plains, mountains and jungles, running its course as it should. You have really lived your life, which now arrives at a self - satisfied stage of quietness and calmness with no interest in fame or wealth. There is no need to make use of hair dyeing. The snow-capped mountain itself is a beautiful scene of fairyland. Let your looks change from young to old in step with the natural ageing process so as to keep in harmony with nature, for harmony itself is beauty, while the other way round will only end in unpleasantness. To be in the company of the elderly is like reading a thick book of good edition, which attracts one so much that one is unwilling to part with it. As long as one finds where one stands, one knows how to package oneself, just as a commodity sets up its brand by the right packaging.

There are two types of people in the world. Although they have equal degrees of health and wealth and the other comforts of life, one becomes happy,        becomes unhappy. This        from the different ways in which they consider things, persons, and events, and the resulting effects upon their minds.
The people who are to be happy        their attention to the conveniences of things, the pleasant parts of conversation, the well-prepared dishes, the goodness of the wines, and the fine weather. They enjoy all the cheerful things. Those who are to be unhappy think and speak only of the        things. They are,       , continually unsatisfied. By their words, they complain about the pleasure of society, offend many people, and        themselves disagreeable (不受欢迎的) everywhere. If this turn of mind were founded in nature, such unhappy persons would be more to be pitied. The intention of criticizing and being disliked is perhaps taken up        by imitation (模仿). It grows into a habit, unknown        its possessors. The habit may be strong, but it may be cured when those who have it are        its bad effects on their interests and tastes. I hope this little warning may be of service to them, and        them change this habit.
Although in fact it is chiefly an act of imagination, it has serious        in life, since it causes deep sorrow and bad luck. Those people offend many others, nobody loves them, and no one treats them with more than the most        politeness and respect. This        puts them in bad temper and draws them into arguments. If they aim at obtaining        advantages in social position or fortune, nobody wishes them success. Nor will anyone start a step        speak a word to favor their hopes. If they cause themselves public objections (反对), no one will        or excuse them, and many        join to criticize their wrongdoings. These people should change this bad habit and be pleased with what is pleasing,        worrying needlessly about themselves and others. If they do not,        will be good for others to avoid any contact with them. Otherwise, it can be disagreeable and sometimes very inconvenient,        when one becomes mixed up in their quarrels.
