“Go for nutrient-dense foods,”she suggests,“foods that contain a multiple of nutrients. For example, select whole wheat bread as a breakfast food, rather than coffee cake. Or drink orange juice rather than orange drink, which contains only a small percentage of real juice—the rest is largely colored sugar water. You just can"t compare the value of these foods, the nutrient-dense ones are so superior,”she emphasizes.
Morrissey believes that variety is not only the spice of life,it"s the foundation of a healthful diet. Diets which are based on one or two foods are not only almost impossible to keep up the strength, they can be very harmful, she says, because nutrients aren"t supplied in enough amounts or balance.
According to Morrissey, trying to find a diet that can cure your illnesses,or make you superwoman is a fruitless search.“ As women, many of us are too concerned with staying thin,”she says, and “we believe that vitamins are some kind of magic cure to replace food.”
“We need carbohydrates, protein and fat-they are like the wood in the fireplace. The vitamins and minerals are like the match, the spark, for the fuel,”she explains.“ We need them all,but in a very different proportions(部分). And if the fuel isn"t there, the spark is useless.”

What is Mesothelioma?
Mesothelioma is the term used to describe a cancerous tumor found in the mesothelial cells of an organ. The organs where this form of cancer is most commonly found are the lungs, heart and abdominal organs. Pleural Mesothelioma is cancer of the lung lining(组织,膜)and is the most common form of Mesothelioma.
What causes Mesothelioma?
Mesothelioma is almost always caused by exposure to asbestos(石棉). Asbestos is often found in building materials used before the mid 1970"s. In addition, materials such as pipes, boiler insulation, floor, ceiling and roof tiles may contain asbestos.
How much asbestos exposure will cause Mesothelioma?
Generally, the probability of developing this form of cancer is in accordance with the length of time you are exposed to asbestos. Also, your health is at risk if your exposure to asbestos is intense. It should be noted that Mesothelioma has a latency(潜伏)period of 20 to 50 years. This means that you may develop the disease long after your exposure to asbestos. On average, people tend to develop Mesothelioma somewhere between 35 and 40 years after exposure.
How quickly does Mesothelioma progress?
The onset of Mesothelioma is quite slow. Patients will begin to experience symptoms such as lower back pain and chest pain. These symptoms may also be accompanied by weight loss, fever and difficulty breathing. Unfortunately, once Mesothelioma develops, it quickly becomes aggressive and treatment must be sought immediately.
Can Mesothelioma be treated?
Doctors are able to use several traditional methods of cancer treatment for Mesothelioma, including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Like all forms of cancer, detecting the disease at the earliest stage possible greatly increases the patient"s chances for survival. If you have worked in an industry such as construction or suspect that you may have been exposed to asbestos, be alert for symptoms and contact your doctor immediately.
What legal courses of action can be taken?
Anyone suffering from Mesothelioma is entitled to compensation from asbestos manufacturers. Additionally, if you are the spouse or child of someone who has died from Mesothelioma, you are entitled to file a claim and seek compensation.

Although people have believed depression to be a problem among the rich and educated, studies show that depression is a problem among everyone。Over any six-month period, between five to seven percent of the world"s population will be suffering from a serious depression.
suicide(自***)rates among people suffering from the disease in its extreme,or clinical form were 80 percent higher than in the population at large, and sufferers were four times more likely to have heart attacks. People who suffer from depression often have problems sleeping, getting up on time, and doing work productively.

“Most patients in China just don"t get help,”a Chinese doctor says.“In my hospital.I have to see 30 or 40 patients in a morning, just have time to say “Hello how do you feel?”
In Western countries, people are not afraid to admit that they have depression, but most do not tell it to their boss, because they fear that their boss would fire them.

There are two reasons why the physical memory dump happens. The first is pretty simple and is to do with the "hardware", and if any of these pieces are not fit for your system, it will cause the physical memory dump. So, if you"ve recently added any hardware to your PC, then take that out and see if it works.
The other reason is your system, the "registry".The registry is a big database that operates in the background of Windows, storing all sorts of settings and information about your PC.The problem with the registry is that since it has so many important files inside, it"s constantly got hundreds of files open every time you use your PC.And because there are so many files to open at once, Windows is constantly getting confused, leading it to save many of these files in the wrong way. These files go wrong when saved wrongly, making them difficult for your computer to read. However, if it can"t read the files at all, it has no choice but to stop everything it"s doing and restart your PC.This is why the physical memory dump error appears so easily—because when a registry file is so wrong that it can"t be read, your computer needs to refresh itself immediately.
This latter reason for causing the physical memory dump is actually extremely common and the likelihood is that your PC is suffering from it, if you"re seeing this error.Luckily, it"s also incredibly easy to fix—you just need to use a software tool called a "registry cleaner" to go through the registry and fix all the problems in there.
小题1:From the text we can infer that ________.
A.the dump error often happens to your PC |
B.the dump can be dealt with easily |

D.the dump error can cause the data in your PC to be lost |
A.the hardware loses its memory
B.your Windows needs to be upgraded
C.you have saved wrong files in the PC
D.you have stored too many files in the PC.
小题3:What’s problem with the registry when your PC goes wrong?
A.The register can’t read the files correctly.
B.It must open 100 files every time you use your PC.
C.The register doesn’t agree with the database.
D.The register must save many important files inside.
小题4:What does a registry cleaner means?
A.A software which can help you save time. |
B.A software which can remove unnecessary files |
C.A software which can repair the machine. |
D.a software which makes your PC down. |
Soon after 1770, Josept Priestley discovered a gas which is now called “laughing gas”. Laughing gas became known in America. Young men and women went to parties to try it. Most of them spent their time laughing, but one man at a party, Horace Wells, noticed that people didn’t seem to feel pain when they were using this gas. He decided to make an experiment on himself. He asked a friend to help him.
Wells took some of the gas, and his friend pulled out one of Wells’ teeth. Wells felt no pain at all.
As he didn’t know enough about laughing gas, he gave a man less gas than he should have. The man cried out with pain when his tooth was being pulled out.
Wells tried again, but this time he gave too much of the gas, and the man died. Wells never forgot this terrible event.

Psychology for Medicine is the first textbook of its kind, providing medical trainees and new doctors with all the relevant psychological knowledge they need. Previously, students had to refer to many different books for the relevant psychology.
The book, by Sussex psychologists Dr. Sussex Ayers and Dr. Richard de Visser, has been well received by fellow academics and medical doctors and was finished with the help of the students and staff of the Brighton and Sussex Medical School. The students proofread(校对) the chapters, provided ideas for the content and even modeled for the photographs. The book provides a solid grounding in psychological study relevant to medicine, along with practical tips and advice for practice. One student, Simon Hall, drew cartoons for the book.
The study psychology is important for doctors for a number of reasons. Psychological and physical symptoms are highly related. Up to a third of patients will have psychological disorders, while physical causes are usually only found in around 15 per cent of people’s symptoms. In treatment, a lot of the effect drugs can be due to patients believing they will recover rather than the drug itself.
Dr. Ayers says, “The important thing about this book is that it’s applied science --- it shows why psychology is important to medicine and how we should use it. The book’s presentation is really important. It’s not just lots of theory, but full of tips and advice so that students can take what they learn in the classroom and apply it to real-life situations.”
