Two traveling angels (天使) stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family.
The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the guestroom. Instead the angels
were given some space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the
older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the
older angel replied,"Things aren"t always what they seem."
The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable
(好客的) farmer. After sharing a little food they had, the farmer and his wife let the angels
sleep in their bed where they could have a good night"s rest. When the sun came up the
next morning, the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk
had been their only income, lay dead in the field.
The younger angel was very angry and asked the older angel, "How could this happen?"
"Why didn"t you watch out for the cow? The first family had everything, yet you watched
over his house," she accused (谴责). "The second family had little but was willing to share
everything, you didn"t help."
"Things aren"t always what they seem," the angel replied. "When we stayed in the
basement, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so
greedy and unwilling to share his good fortune, I asked God if I could seal the wall so he
wouldn"t find it. Then last night as we slept in the farmer"s bed, the angel of death came
for his wife. I asked God if the angel could take the cow instead. So things aren"t always
what they seem."

"You love her,"my wife said. "I love you,"I 1 protested. "But you also love her."
The other woman was my 2 mother,a widow for 19 years, but my work and my three children
had made it 3 possible to visit her only occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for
dinner and a 4 movie. "What"s wrong,are you OK?"she asked.
My mother is the woman who suspects a(an) 5 late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of
bad news. "Just want to pass some time with you," I 6 responded. Two of us!" She thought about it
for a moment,then said OK.
That Friday after work,as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit 7 nervous. When arriving,I
noticed that she, too, was nervous about our 8 date. She smiled like an angel. "I told it to my friends
and they were 9 impressed,"she said,"They can"t wait to hear about our meeting."
We went to a restaurant. My mother took my 10 arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat
down,I had to read the menu. Her eyes were bad and could only read large 11 print. "I read the menu
when you were small,"she said. "Then it"s time that you should relax and let me return the 12 favor,"I
responded.
We had an agreeable conversation, nothing extraordinary but each other"s 13 life. We talked so much
that we missed the movie. As we arrived at her house 14 later, she said,"I wish I could go out with you
again. I agreed 15 happily."
A few 16 days later my mother died of a serious heart attack. It 17 happened so suddenly that I
didn"t have a chance to do anything for her. At that moment I understood the importance of 18 saying
in time:"I LOVE YOU" and to give our loved ones the time that they 19 deserve.
Nothing in life is more important than your family. Give them the time they deserve, because these
things cannot be 20 put off till "some other time".

school gate and saw my new classroom and teachers,I thought I would have a new start.
The school life is very busy and exciting. There are many activities in our school, such as
Sports Meeting,Science Week,Art Week and so on.We all take an active part in them.I
have made many new friends and we often help and learn from each other in study. Our
teachers have taught us a lot. They not only teach us how to study but also teach us how to
be a useful person in society. They tell us which thing is worth doing.Habit is a second
nature. Our teachers often tell us to form a good habit.
People often say:There is no rule of learning. Now I feel it is true. The study now is far
more different than before.I often find there is something difficult to understand at once.
At this time, you must spend a lot of time studying by yourself or you won"t make progress.
Of course study is hard but when you make progress you"ll find it is interesting.
Our school is clean and beautiful. There are many trees and flowers around it.In order
to make our school more and more beautiful,we should try our best to keep it clean.
Today we are proud of Songpu.Tomorrow Songpu will be proud of us.
