A.attend | B. would have attended |
C.attended | D. were to attend |
答案
解析
试题分析:考查从句中的虚拟语气。句意:他们所有的人都认为参加会议室必需的。根据句型It is/was necessary that + 主语 + (should) + v进行判定。题干中it作形式宾语,that引起真正地宾语从句,从句中应使用上述句型中主语从句的should + v结构,其中should可以省略。此类试题往往是考试的焦点,因为学生往往忽略should的省略,虽然省略了,但其后的动词原形不变。故A正确。

Good sleep is needed for good health. During sleep, your body repairs itself. Your immune system is built up. Don"t shortchange(亏待,欺骗) yourself of the sleep you need. Here are some of an expert"s tips for getting a good night"s sleep.
1. Make sure your room is dark. Pull down the shades. Let no light of any kind in.
2. Before you go to sleep, ask your family not to turn on a light. Light breaks the sleep rhythm. Once broken, it"s hard to get the sleep clock running right. As a result, you will not sleep well. You will wake up tired.
3. A hot bath just before bed is good. It makes you relax. You are at peace. This starts the desire for sleep.
4. During the day, _________.Even jogging(慢跑) will show good results. How about a good long walk? This will get your body to work. You will find that toward evening you will get that nice, tired feeling. Sleep then will come easily. Added to this, exercise is good for your health.
5. Here is what to do when you get up. Open the shades or blinds. Let the sun in. Open the windows. Let the fresh air in. This sun and air get imprinted on your brain. The Million Veterans March - as it was called - was supposed to be a peaceful call for 小题6: end to the government shutdown now threatening many veterans’ benefits.
Protesters tore down barricades(临时的路障) and carried 小题7: to the White House where they threw them in front of the gates and shouted slogans against the president.
“It is time that Congress started the government again. Veterans paid a price. Promises were made to them that 小题8: they serve our country, our country will take care of them. We’re failing in that mission,” said one of the protesters Kelly.
Why would we want to build skyscrapers filled with vegetables when we’ve been farming on the ground for 10,000 years? Because as the world’s population grows—from 7 billion now to as much as 9 billion by 2050—we could run out of productive soil and water. Most of the population growth will occur in cities that can’t easily feed themselves. And the fact is that modern agriculture as well as everything associated with it – chemical fertilizers and transportation full of carbon—is a significant contributor to climate change, and suddenly vertical farming doesn’t seem so magic in the sky.
“Vertical farming could allow food to be grown locally and sustainably,” says Glen Kertz, CEO of Valcent. The result saves space — vital in urban areas — and allows farmers to irrigate and fertilize with far less waste.
At Valcent’s El Paso lab, crops grow in rows on conveyor belts. Moving them gives the plants the precise amount of light and nutrients needed, letting them grow 15 times as much vegetable as on a normal farm with 5% of the water that traditional agriculture does.
Despommier plans to build a 30-story, city-block-size vertical farm that would have transparent walls to maximize sunlight and would produce enough food for 50, 000 people. But it would cost hundreds of millions to build a full-scale skyscraper farm. That’s the main drawback: construction and energy costs would probably make vertically raised food more costly than traditional crops.
