     Li Yan"s parents divorced (离婚) when she was only six years old. Two years later, her father got
married again and the stepmother (继母)wasn"t kind to her. Her father didn"t look after her well. So she

     One day, a poor young artist stood at the gate of the subway station, playing his violin. He wanted
to collect money for his schooling. When he got home, he found there was a lottery (彩票) among the
money.    
     The next day, he went there again, put his hat on the ground. Meanwhile he took out a large piece
of paper and laid it on the ground. It said, "Last night, a gentleman named George Sang put an important
thing into my hat by mistake. Please come to get it soon. "Then he began playing.
