One night, I was sitting in my kitchen half listening as my 15-year-old brother Tommy fought with my 12-year-old brother Kevin. I didn’t pay attention when Kevin rushed up the stairs with the hurt on his face.
About 20minutes later, as I was walking upstairs I heard Kevin crying inside the ____. I knocked on the door and asked, “Hey Kev, do you want to talk?” No answer. I tried again, “Hey, why don’t you come out of there?” Again, no answer. So I took a stack of(一堆) cards and a pencil and wrote, “If you don’t want to ______, we can write notes to each other.”
An hour later I was _______ sitting on the floor outside the bathroom with two stacks of cards in front of me. One was blank(空白的) and the other was cards _____Kevin on which he had translated all his unpleasant feelings into words for me.______ I read one of Kevin’s notes, tears came to my eyes. It said, “______ in this family cares about me, I’m not clever. Tommy thinks I’m a fool and Dad wishes he had the other Kevin as a kid because he’s better at basketball. And you’re never around to even ___ me.”
Tears came to my eyes as I wrote back to him. It was ______what he had said about me. I wrote back, “You know Kev, I really do love you and I’m sorry I don’t always show it to you. I am here for you and you are _____ in this family.”
There was no answer for a while, but then I heard a tearing sound coming from inside the bathroom. Kevin, who had _____ cards wrote on a torn-up(撕毁的) paper cup, “Thanks.”
I wrote back “For what?” It returned to me with “loving me” written on it. Since then, I try my best to ____ half notice my family members any more. Kevin and I have a closer _____  now, and sometimes when one of us notices that the other is upset we’ll smile and say “Write it on a paper cup.”

A bag is useful and the word “bag” is useful too. It gives us some interesting phrases(短语). One is “ to let the cat out of the bag.” It is the same as “to tell a secret”. There’s an old interesting story about it.
Long ago, when people sold things in big cloth bags, a woman asked a man for a pig. The man held up his cloth bag. There seemed to be a little pig in it. The woman asked to see it. When the man opened the cloth bag, a big black cat ran out. Not a pig! The man’s secret was out and everyone knew it.
Now when someone lets out a secret, he “ lets the cat out of the bag”. And that is the story where the interesting phrase came from.

Once, a circle lost a piece of its own. The circle wanted to be whole, so it went around, looking for its     piece. But because it was not complete, it could only roll (滚) very slowly. It enjoyed the flowers and the sunshine     the way. It talked with worms. It found lots of different pieces, but     of them fit. So it left them all by the side of the road and kept on     for the lost piece. Then one day the circle found a piece that fit    . The circle put the piece into    . It could be whole with nothing lost. It was so happy and began to roll. As it was a perfect circle, it could roll very fast, too fast to see flowers or talk to worms. It realized how different the world was when it rolled so quickly. It felt so sad     it stopped, left its found piece by the side of the road and rolled very slowly.
Sometimes we are perfect when we lose something. A man     has everything is poor in some ways. He will never have hopes, dreams or something    . He will never know someone loves him or someone is giving him something he has always wanted or never had.
We couldn’t be perfect. But we must be brave enough to love, strong enough to forgive, kind enough to share     with others and clever enough to know there is enough love around us and then we can always have a wonderful time in our life.

There was once a young mouse that lived in a hole in a wall. One day, the young mouse woke up from his sleep and looked out of the hole. As he looked out, a fantastic smell came to his nose. “Cheese!” the mouse said happily to himself. “I’ll go and get it now and have it for breakfast.”
But then he remembered his parents’ words. His parents were very clever mice and often said to their son, “Always wait before you go for a piece of cheese.”
