这句英语写得对吗?
I am impressed by the serious environmental change of my hometown during the past decades,where was tortured by excessive use of thermal power plants.

疑点是,
1、tortured在这里对象是hometown可以吗?
2、excessive use of thermal power plants这样的表达地道吗?或者excessive thermal power plants更好?

1.语法上没问题,但用“bear”更地道些
2.use of plants本身就是Chinglish,是完全错误的说法!若要说污染,则可直接表达为“where bore the polution from excessive thermal power plants.”
3.句中的serious是不对的,应换成great、big、significant等
这句话的结构安排的不好,虽然你想用定语从句的复杂结构将两句合为一句的想法很好,但是结果并不理想.如果我说的话,会是这样的：
(As a place)Bore the polution from excessive thermal power plants,my hometown has had a great change in environment during the past decades,which impresses me so much.
