because的用法,because 可以直接用在系动词后面吗

你这个例子里 because的用法没有什么问题.不过还是有语病,动词重复了（do 和is）,又没有从句结构,is 需要去掉,逗号后面并列的结构（not……but……）同样也不需要it is这个主谓结构,直接because引导原因状语从句修饰do not repair就可以了.
Sometimes people do not repair things not because they have no will,but because they can't afford to do so.
系动词后面一般跟表语（名词,形容词）,because做连词引导的是原因状语从句.除非有特殊情况,表语被省略了,because才会直接跟在系动词后面吧.或者就是强调的用法,It is because ……,这里it is 其实是可以省去的.
