如果分词的逻辑主语既不是所在句子中的主语或宾语,又不是独立主格结构,那就成了“垂悬分词”,是一种病句,应该避免.

我们站在海岸上,看到船在远处航行.

（standing的逻辑主语不可能是the ship）
Standing on the seashore,we saw the ship sailing in the distance.(正）
Being very wide,we can't swim across the river.(误）（being的逻辑主语不可能是we）
The river being very wide,we can't swim across it.(正）河很宽,我们游不过去.
