allow 后接 to do 和 doing 有何区别?

allow上后面只能接doing的形式,还可以接不定式的复合结构,即 allow sb.to do sth.接 to do 的形式 只能是将allow 变为被动语态才可以,即 be allowed to do sth.
e.g.They do not allow smoking here.
