前一句为现在完成时,讲的是现在的情况,所以排除AB,又Stop doing sth. 表示“停止做某事”,Stop 为及物动词,而Stop to do sth. 为“停下手中的话,去做另一件事”,stop 为不及物动词,不定式为目的状语.所以选D为最佳.
原以为前一分句为过去完成时,选A. 但经搜索,楼主没有打错题.(选项还是打错了,我改回来了）
此题设计又欠妥.因为D为一般现在时,表示经常发生的情况.如改为so we decide to stop to have a rest,可以.决定是心理活动.或改为So we will stop to have a rest 也可以.
还有两种改法,答案均为A最佳：
We had worked for a long time, so we stopped to have a rest. 表示过去的事.
Having worked for a long time, so we stopped to have a rest. （同上）
还可以：After working for a long time...
