people. Actually, most people experience nervousness at some time or another.
If you are feeling anxious, my advice is to first find the cause or causes. Make s list of those things that
are making you nervous and work out which ones you can do something about. Focus all of your efforts on
managing the causes that you can control.
Most people cannot tell the difference between controllable (可控制的) and uncontrollable causes, so
things they can"s control become a big reason for nervousness. Dealing with this is very important if people
want to keep a healthy mind.
Simply try to accept the uncontrollable causes of nervousness. You might be worried about the weather
on a big day, an accident or an attack on the train, or perhaps just things that other people are doing at work.
The results may be very important but there is still no use worrying because you can"t control any of these
things. Accept that you can"t control everything. Once you understand this, it becomes easier not to worry.
If a situation, such as swimming, is causing you to be anxious, try to face it as often as possible so that
you can get used to it.
It can often help to think about yourself doing the thing that makes you nervous-then close your eyes and
imagine it going well. Imagine how the flight or job interview is going to happen so that you can get used to it.
This will help you understand that the thing you fear most is probably not going to happen.

microbes as well as fingerprints (指纹) could be used to indentify the criminal.
Everyone has his own set of microbes on the hands. That is to say, if you and your best friend were able
to see and compare all the microbes on your hands, your hands probably would look different. Some microbes
only show up on your hands while others live only on your friend"s hands.
When you work on a computer you leave the microbes from your hands on the keyboard. The scientists
can easily tell the owner of the keyboard by looking at the microbes on it. Even if you don"t leave your
fingerprints behind, your microbes may give you away.
Noah Fierer, a scientist, says. "You can only clean a fingerprint, but you can"t sterilize (使无菌) a surface

People love oranges. They are sweet and juicy. They are in sections so it"s easy to eat them. Some oranges don"t have any seeds. Some have a thick skin and some have a thin skin. The orange tree is very beautiful. It has a lot of shiny green leaves. The small white flowers smell very sweet. An orange tree has flowers and fruits at the same time. There were orange trees forty hundred years ago. The oranges were very small, not like the ones today. The earliest orange trees probably came from China. Many different kinds of oranges are raised there today. Farmers in other parts of Asia and the Middle East learned to raise oranges from the Chinese. Then they taught Europeans. The Spanish planted orange trees in the New World (North and South America) and took them to Florida first. "Orange" is both a fruit and a color. The color of oranges is so beautiful that in English we use the name of the fruit for its color. |
